Blueberries:

Our blueberries are availbable from the first week of July untill the third week of September. We sell to wholesale companies as well directly into high end restaurants.

From season 2012 onwards we expect to have an online paypall and order facility on this web site which allows anybody to order any quantity over 2 kg per order.

Taste

They are picked off the bush when they are at their best. Our blueberries taste superior because unlike most supermarket blueberries, ours do not have to go through 2 weeks of travelling through supply chains which results in the loss of flavour components.

The last three weeks of the seaon we harvest a variety called Aurora, which has a different flavour as all other blueberry varieties. The taste can be discribed as “dry”.

Our blueberries are organically grown and consequently are free of any chemical residues.

Packaging

The blueberries are packed in either 125 gr or 500 gr punnets, or 200 gr beakers.

We decided on packaging our blueberries in plastic cups, after experimenting with a couple of different packaging ideas like paper pulp, and biodegradable plastic made of maize starch which actually turned out to leave a bigger environmental impact than the plastic cups, according to a research by Exeter University.

Organic Duck and hen eggs

From spring  2012 we expect to be able to supply local restaurants with a range of organic duck eggs as well as hen eggs.

The ducks on the farm spend most of their time in the blueberry plantation where they eat amongst other things the slugs, which would otherwise do damage to the blueberries. Compared to hen eggs, duck eggs are larger and are stronger in flavour. They are highly regarded by top chefs. Orders can be collected or delivered.

Organic vegetable garden

We plan to have an organic vegetable garden up and running by Spring 2012. We will supply local restaurants as well as our family and farm workers with fresh vegetables.

From Mid summer 2013 organic Raspberries and Kiwi berries will be available.
